Fall Welcome is a tradition at Penn State. 

Welcome Week is full of activities to help you get to know University Park, meet new friends, and learn about the new opportunities available to you here. Many of the Signature Events held during Welcome Week are required for all students new to University Park, and are indicated with an "*"  below.  Please make special note of the following required events:

Friday, August 21 - Arrival Day for Centre County & Out-of-State Students

Current Penn State parents and Parents Program staff will be available to answer any last minute questions. Stop by and ask for directions, pick up a campus map, or get advice from families who have already supported their student in a successful transition to Penn State.

Friday Night Lights with Women's Soccer

Join the Park Avenue Army and cheer on the 2014 Big 10 Champion Women's Soccer Team at their home opener. Free t-shirt and pizza to the first 500 students.  Gates open at 6:00pm.

Commuter Connection Dinner* - required for first-year students living off campus

First-year students who will be commuting to campus are invited to attend this reception.  Learn tips for college success and strategies to acclimate to the University Park community, and walk together to the President's New Student Convocation at the Bryce Jordan Center.  Dinner provided.

All new change-of-campus students are expected to attend this program. Check-in begins at 9:00am. Learn tips for success from change-of-campus student leaders, meet staff, and connect with other students new to University Park. Refreshments and information packets will be provided.
